Je vis des figures de proue étonnantes, qui avaient toutes parcouru les océans lointains. Je vis aussi beaucoup de vieux marins avec des anneaux aux oreilles, des favoris bouclés, des catogans goudronneux, et à la démarche lourde et importante. J’aurais eu moins de plaisir à voir autant de rois et d’archevêques.
